Airport Procedures

Upon arrival, follow the directional signage leading to the passport control area. Please ensure your passport, travel documents, and required visas, including e-visas, if applicable, are ready. After going through passport control, proceed to the baggage claim area. Free Wi-Fi is also available throughout the entire airport.

Before passing through customs, take the opportunity to explore the Duty-Free shop in the Arrivals hall for any last-minute shopping.

After collecting your luggage, please proceed to customs and select the appropriate lane:

Green Channel: for passengers carrying items that do not require a customs declaration.

Red Channel: for passengers carrying goods or belongings that require a customs declaration. Once customs procedures are complete, several transportation options are available:

Airport Taxis: Amman City Airport Taxis provide safe, fast, and comfortable transport at reasonable fares to any location in Jordan — an ideal option for travelers without pre-arranged transport; fares are legally regulated by the Land Transport Regulatory Commission, and taxis are available 24/7 at the designated stand outside the Arrivals Hall.

Car Rental: you can rent a vehicle via the AVIS desk located inside the Arrivals Hall.

Amman City Airport Shuttle: a free shuttle bus service transporting passengers to Marka Circle, where you can connect to your preferred onward transportation.

Limousine Services: offered by the JETT & Marhaba coalition, providing premium services for travelers seeking extra comfort and privacy.

Amman City Airport provides comprehensive services for passengers with disabilities, elderly travelers, and anyone requiring extra support. To ensure optimal service delivery, advance coordination with your airline or airport management prior to travel is recommended.

After passing through customs, local SIM cards are available for purchase from telecom providers located within the Arrivals hall. ATMs and currency exchange services are also available at multiple locations throughout the airport for your convenience.

You can reach the airport using various modes of transportation, including private vehicles, taxis, limousine services, and buses. If you are returning a rental car from one of the airport's rental providers, you can drop off the vehicle and keys at the designated area before proceeding to the Departure Hall. Dedicated parking spaces for passengers with special needs are available near the terminal entrances, alongside wheelchair and special assistance services. To ensure timely service, advance coordination with your airline or airport management is recommended.

Upon entering the Departure Hall, proceed to your airline's check-in counter to complete travel formalities and drop off your baggage. If you have checked in online, you may proceed directly to the baggage drop counter, if available for your airline. Please adhere to your airline's baggage allowance policy, as additional fees may apply for excess or oversized baggage, which may need to be dropped off at the designated oversized luggage counter.

After completing check-in procedures, proceed to the passport control and security screening area, to expedite the inspection process, please observe the following:

You may be asked to remove your belt, shoes, or jacket before passing through screening devices.

Remove large electronic devices from your bags and place them separately for inspection.

Keep prescription medications in their original packaging, along with the prescription, if needed.

Follow the instructions of security personnel and adhere to restrictions regarding liquids and permitted hand luggage items.

After passing through passport control and security screening, you can enjoy a variety of services and facilities, including: Duty-Free shopping. Cafes and restaurants. Retail stores and commercial services. Children's play area. Prayer rooms. Smoking rooms. Free Wi-Fi throughout the Departure Hall.

Please monitor the Flight Information Display screens regularly to check your gate number and any updates regarding your flight schedule. Boarding gates close prior to departure time in accordance with airline regulations; therefore, passengers are advised to proceed to the gate as soon as boarding is announced and ensure arrival well before gate closure.
